Jody Rush didn’t manage to outrun the storm; instead she gets caught in it, which causes her car to hydroplane off the road into a ditch, and now even her belongings inside the car are going to be ruined.  Considering her luck so far, she should have been able to guess who would come to her rescue.  Even though she’s soaked to the skin, she’s not entirely thrilled to see Logan Mitchell.  She’d had a crush on her best friend’s brother for years, but not too long ago, Jody and Logan went out to a nice dinner, which led to the most amazing sex Jody had ever had – and Logan all but running out the door the next morning.

Logan has often fantasized about Jody, but he’s sure that if he let her know exactly what he wants from her sexually, she’d bolt.  He’s been avoiding her since the night they spent together, yet now, thanks to the storm, he and Jody will be trapped at a line shack on his ranch until the rain lets up.  Not just any line shack either, but Logan’s private hideaway, where he’s able to indulge his Dominant side without fear of any surprise visits.  When Jody questions him about his disappearing act, Logan decides to tell her the truth and risk losing the woman he’s beginning to think may be perfect for him.

Two people who have hidden their feelings from one another for years fall in love in the tantalizing story, RIDING OUT THE STORM.  Jody and Logan have each secretly lusted after the other, but when they finally do something about it, Logan doesn’t react well, and Jody is hurt.  Meeting up again for the first time since that night, tensions are high between them, but necessity forces them together.  They share an obvious emotional connection, and the heat between them is scorching.  Logan is sure of who he is and what he needs in his life, but Jody has felt something missing in her other relationships, and doesn’t know what that is.  When Logan explains his need to dominate, Jody begins to think this is what has been missing.

A very erotic and engaging short story, RIDING OUT THE STORM combines inventive sex with romance in a place where the storm inside is just as tempestuous as the one outside.
